电脑免费升级到 Windows 10

我们的笔记本电脑用的是Windows 7，几天前我们把它升级到Windows 10。

1. 升级前：确保作了Windows 7（操作系统和数据）的所有必要的备份。
2. 升级：从微软 https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10 下载 Windows10Upgrade。 运行它。它会检查电脑是否有足够的硬件支持 Windows 10。升级可能在99％时停止。解决的办法是卸载所有自己安装的软件，尤其是杀毒软件，VPN软件，...。整个升级约10小时。
3. 升级后：做个系统备份（约65 GB），做个 Windows10的应急起动盘，再刻录一个Windows 10光盘备用。

Free upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7

Our laptop has a licensed Windows 7, and we did an upgrade to Windows 10. It is great.

1. Before the upgrade, make sure you have made all the necessary backup of your Windows 7 (OS and Data).
2. Do the upgrade. Get the executable Windows10Upgrade from Microsoft https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10. Run it. It checks if the hardware acceptable or not. The upgrade may hung at the point showing 99%. We uninstalled all the software we installed, especially anti-virus software, VPN software, ... . Budget yourself about 10 hours for this upgrade.
3. After the upgrade, perform a system backup (about 65 GB, in size, in my case), burn a recovery disk of Windows 10, and burn a Windows 10 iso for future re-installation.
